If you are to look for a definition, you would find that panic attacks are sudden periods of intense anxiety that give you fear, stomach problems and discomfort, the feeling that you’re running out of air, and the feeling that you won’t be able to keep control over yourself.

No matter what the definition might be, is clear that panic attacks are a psychological condition that everybody can experience once in their lives, and unfortunately, it’s not a very pleasant experience.

Panic attacks can occur anytime with no obvious reasons or triggers, but in fact they do have a strong link to your inner self and the way that a certain thing or situation makes you feel. When this happens, your body is overwhelmed by chemicals that make you either fight or run. However, when this occurs neither of the above might be an option to be considered ( think that you’re stuck in a bus filled with people) and this is why, by doing nothing, all that anxiety and chemicals that your body produces make you feel nausea, stomach pains or discomfort, you start getting cold sweats and you start getting trembles, etc.
Of course, when a panic attack happens, the first thing that you want to do is get away from the place you’re in and find a safe place in which you can calm down. Once you do that, you’ll see that you feel drained and light headed and scared of what just happened and concerned of what might have happened. Needless to say, this makes you whole day a bad one, and if this is an experience that repeats itself, you might get depressed and keep away from the places/people/situations that make you feel that way.
What you have to understand is that most people will experience anxiety at some point in their lives. This might be triggered by the loss of a job, an upcoming exam, death of a friend or relative, things that overwhelm you with stress. However, for some people this is a random experience that doesn’t repeat itself too often, and for others it begins being a day to day routine with which they have to live.
If you find yourself in a situation when panic attacks are a major part of your life and you feel that this condition doesn’t let you function properly, then you have to acknowledge that you have a problem, and seek help.
When it comes to helping people with panic attacks there are two ways to go, one is medication and the other is psychological counseling. You might want to choose on or the other or both, depending on the severity of your condition. What you have to know is that THIS CAN BE CURED and that you’re not alone and there are people that have experienced the same things and are now free of them.
