If one can spare some time to think about human life by means of our very common sense, he or she can easily come to the following conclusion: the goal of human life is to propagate offspring or keep his or her DNA alive.
Obviously, to instinctively maintain this goal working is the vital instinct of human beings, otherwise there is no human in the world today.
Happy Life
Feeling happy is just like the traffic green light which indicates the right way to this goal of human life. And that is the very reason why we feel happy when doing anything which is good for achieving the goal although it is unconsciously in most cases. Such as:
- Eat when hungry,
- Drink when thirsty,
- Wear warm when cold,
- …
- Kids play(learn),
- Adults fall in love,
- Married couple foster babies,
- Parents give everything to their children,
- …
Apparently, depression or feeling unhappy is resulted unconsciously from the difficulties which can not be overcome for achieving the life goal of propagating offspring or keeping DNA alive. For examples;
- No friends(symbiotic partners),
- Failure in love,
- Infertility,
- Being badly-off,
- Intolerably unequally treated (essential instinct for evolution),
- …
Suicide
When one thinks that he or she is in a situation of absolutely no way to achieve the goal of life or to propagate his or her own offspring, he or she will gradually feel neither happy to live nor pain to die, just like a numb person. Naturally, if the numb situation continues long enough, it will very probably lead to suicide. (Re #1-3)
This is because:
- Valid Happiness is the momentarily feeling of things being a step better for keeping human DNA alive.
- Valid Suffering or Pain is the feeling of things being harmful to keeping our DNA alive and calling us to rectify it.
However, today’s invalid happiness is harmful to our life goal of keeping DNA alive and can make one constantly greedy and suffering invalidly. Furthermore, today’s long term invalid suffering may make one become numb with pain and eventually suicide. (Re #1-3)
Quit Depression and Suicide
Apparently, it is easy to quit today’s depression and suicide in most cases as soon as one can stop the invalid happiness and the invalid suffering. (Re #1-3)
Conclusion
To quit depression or suicide needs really understand invalid happiness and invalid suffering.
