Inexpensive Stress Techniques

Stress techniques don’t have to break the bank. It’s possible to cope with stress on your own if you use strategic techniques and apply them on a daily basis.

Stress is what happens when you think that you’re handling more than you can take on. Most of the time, it’s a perception or maybe even a fact that you simply don’t have the resources to handle a heightened challenge.

When you feel stressed, your heart starts to race. You might find yourself not able to sleep at night. Your hormone levels increase to the point of extreme anxiety. What can you do? Here are a few pointers.

  • Exercise- When you exercise, it releases the same hormones as stress and anxiety. It only makes sense that you would feel better after releasing all of that adrenaline into a healthy outlet like cardio, sports, or walking.

  • Meditation- It can be done anywhere by anyone. You just need silence. Focus your eyes on one focal point and concentrate on your breath. If you feel your mind start racing, it’s a good idea to just reflect on it and let it pass on by. Don’t worry about pushing it away.

  • Writing- Writing is especially effective after meditation. Write about your reflections, how you feel, what the room felt like. There are other ways to write, too. Keeping a journal is excellent stress therapy.

  • Humor- A good laugh relieves all kinds of tension. Go to a comedy. Go out with some friends. Maybe you just need to laugh. Some people actually do laughing exercises to release stress.

  • Relax the muscles- You can do this by a massage, hot tub, or Jacuzzi. If these options aren’t readily available just hop in the hot tub. Your tension will melt away as your muscles relax.
